That trade-off may be worth it if you’re looking to save yourself time swapping cords, but you’re better off with another cable if you need to charge your phone in a hurry.Apple EarPods with Lightning Connector don't work with iPod nano or any device that has iOS 9 or earlier. This is also the only cable we recommend that doesn’t support fast charging. Additionally, since this cable uses adapters to switch connectors, there may be a lag in data transfer that you wouldn’t get with a straight USB-A connector. One enthusiastic Amazon reviewer said the Powerline II “significantly cuts down on the amount of cables I carry with me when I travel” since you don’t have to lug around a separate cable for each device you need on the go.Ī few caveats, though: The primary connector is micro-USB, which isn’t omnidirectional, so you’ll have to make sure you plug it in the right way, and it comes in only one length. Anker’s Powerline II three-in-one cable packs three connectors (Lightning, USB-C, and micro-USB) into a single cable using two attached adapters to swap between connectors. That’s where multi-connector cables come in: With them, you can turn a Lightning cable into a USB-C cable when you need to let your friend charge their Android phone or swap to micro-USB when your old Bluetooth speaker needs a charge. Nobody likes having to plug and unplug cables just to charge devices that require different connectors. | Connection: USB-A | Fast charge support: No | Material: Rubber | MFI certification: Yes | Connector shape: Straight To find the best options, we spoke with tech experts and iPhone users about their favorites, and also included a couple of our favorites. The one that comes in the box with your iPhone is short in length and notoriously short in lifespan, but third parties like Anker and Nomad have stepped up to make cables that can outlast and outperform Apple’s own offerings. ( French Montana even named a Lightning cable as something he can’t live without).Īnd even after the iPhone’s port gets switched to USB-C (which the EU requires for all new devices by autumn 2024), you may still end up holding onto an iPhone or iPad or Magic Mouse that requires a lightning cable. You can get a wireless charger and rely on Bluetooth to stream music to a portable speaker, but a Lightning cable is necessary to connect your iPhone to a wall charger, power bank, and many other devices. If you use an iPhone, you need a Lightning cable.

![]() I find the comparison with Doom really iffy because Dusk definitely didn't use Doom as a template, if I was to compare it to a contemporary shooter, Quake would be the obvious pick. They have the same low polygon count on weapons, enemies and similar overall looks of the environment, except Dusk does outdoors areas much more than Quake ever did. And I guess cacos fly.īut yeah, I fully disagree with the first post. I mean, it's sorta true for Doom 1? Imps, cacodemons and barons of hell are functionally the same enemy but with minor differences on the damage and health stats. The problem with DUSK's Shotgun is that it can be dual-wielded, which honestly feels redundant in the presence of a Double-barrel Shotgun heck, it might even overshadow the latter, since the Shotgun is more accurate.Īlso, most Doom enemies are just imp reskins, change my mind. ![]() Well, in regard to the shotgun, I guess one solution would be to make ammo less plentiful.Īlso, when I think about it, the Shotgun in Doom is not that useful: fighting Barons of Hell with it is kind of tedious and it is less than ideal against enemies that need to be quickly eliminated, like the Mancubus and the Arch-Vile. If they haven’t, easy - I just recommend both! I still recommend it, though the recommendation gets prefaced with “have you played Quake”. I also don’t think the Quake Remaster would’ve been a thing without Dusk being part of that boom. The irony is I think I have Dusk to thank for getting me back into it. I don’t want to fuel too much negativity, but these days I find myself wanting to play Quake over Dusk when I’m feeling some “full 3D classic styled” shooting. It also gets a highfive for helping steer interest towards 90s styled FPS gameplay, another popular sentiment I’m echoing. It had decent level variety that wasn’t always a linearly progressed path, awesome jams that are occasionally contextual and often fit the mood and story, and I’ll be echoing what’s been said a billion times now but it had a quaint “Blood meets Quake” tone and atmosphere that felt good. Haven’t wanted to again in awhile, kind of waiting for that HD model update that got announced last July. so what can they do?Īnyway all this is TL DR'ed as :I understand the problems OP is having, but they're problems that are really difficult to fix from a design perspective, even some of the best games ever made have issues like this. I mean really, all FPS enemy design boils down to "projectiles/hitscans/melees" and their variations therein. ![]() put in a reviver enemy like an archvile? they've already got melee enemies that run at you and projectile enemies that do things like shoot three bullets at once. I guess what I have to ask is: what do you want them to do? make hitscanners?. cultists literally are just imps, and the homing attack from the buffed ones is, again, a way of changing up the gameplay. yes, the dog is just a modified soldier, but a tiny goat moving at twice the speed shooting at a lower fire rate but with a higher bullet speed leads to a different gameplay scenario. you'd need beefier enemies to accomodate that though, since boosting the hunting rifle (which already one shots most things) wouldn't even be noticed.Īs for enemy variety, there's only so much you can do to make projectile based enemies different from each other. ![]() Only decent solution I can think of is having certain enemies take a damage boost from certain weapon types, like rifle damage doing extra to the soldier or something. I think serious sam does that. you could also pull a DMC reboot and make only specific weapons hurt specific enemies but that's horrible too. I guess it beats the sword and sickles for up close and personal? anyway the only way I can see to make using the other weapons more enticing is to make the shotgun worse which. mortar is better for peeking around corners. crossbow is better for narrow hallways with many enemies, hunting rifle is better at long range fighting and single target damage. The shotgun is good at everything, but it's not really the best at anything. To be honest though I really don't know how you'd solve either one. I believe the initial problem boils down to "you can use the shotgun for literally everything and enemies are just different variations of imp-style fireballers." ![]() The responsibilities for this role include proposing and executing marketing and e-Commerce plans that promote revenue growth generation among key customer segments and support the hotel’s brand positioning and image.
